Murder: Trio Charged In Quintuple Jersey City Shooting

Three men have been charged with murder in a 2020 shooting that wounded four men and left one dead in Jersey City, authorities said.

Lamont Wiggins, 25, Sheldon Mays, 23 and Jermaine Jennings, 22, were charged with murder in the first degree, multiple counts of attempted murder, and various weapons charges in connection with the June 2020 incident on Union Street, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.

Jersey City officers responding to the scene between Martin Luther King Drive and Ocean Avenue and found multiple victims, including city resident Scott Colclough, Suarez said.

The 34-year-old died as a result of being shot multiple times, while four other gunshot victims were taken to a nearby hospital where they treated and released, Suarez said.

Wiggins and Mays are currently in custody at the Hudson County Correctional Facility on unrelated charges, Suarez said. Jennings is currently in custody at McKean Federal Correctional Institute in Pennsylvania on unrelated charges, Suarez said.
